G10 Innovations Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

G10 Innovations, LLC (“G10”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides K–12 education technology solutions (“G10 Application”) to school districts and educational institutions. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when the G10 Application is used by districts, schools, staff, and students.

G10 operates as a FERPA-designated school official under the direction and control of each district. Student data is governed by the district and used only for authorized educational purposes.

1. Scope of this privacy policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the G10 Application and related services provided to K–12 districts, including web-based and integrated tools used for:

  • Student assessments and progress monitoring
  • Staff accounts and role-based access
  • District-managed workflows and reporting

2. FERPA school-official status and district data ownership

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), G10 acts as a school official with a legitimate educational interest, as defined and authorized by each district’s policies and agreements.

As a FERPA-designated school official:

  • The district retains full ownership and control of student education records.
  • G10 processes data only to provide services requested and authorized by the district.
  • G10 does not use student data for advertising, resale, or unrelated commercial purposes.
  • G10 does not use identifiable student data to train generalized AI models.
  • Districts may request access, export, or deletion of data in accordance with their policies.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Student data

Depending on district configuration, the G10 Application may process:

  • Student identifiers (e.g., name, student ID, grade level, school)
  • Assessment results, scores, and progress data
  • Program participation and instructional groupings
  • District-defined tags, flags, or indicators related to instruction

3.2 Staff and administrator data

  • Names, district email addresses, and roles
  • Permissions and role-based access settings

3.3 System and usage data

  • Login timestamps and activity logs
  • Actions taken within the application (e.g., viewing reports, editing records)
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information

4. How we use information

G10 uses data solely to support district-authorized educational operations, including:

  • Delivering assessment, reporting, and workflow features
  • Supporting instructional decision-making and district analytics
  • Maintaining security, auditing access, and preventing misuse
  • Improving reliability, performance, and usability of the G10 Application

Any use of data is governed by agreements with the district and applicable laws. We do not use student data for targeted advertising or unrelated marketing.

5. Data sharing and third-party processors

G10 does not sell student or staff data. We may share data only in the following limited ways:

  • With district-authorized third-party processors (e.g., hosting providers, secure backup services) that support the G10 Application and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
  • As required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, and only after notifying the district where permitted.

Any third-party service used by G10 is contractually required to protect data and use it only for the purposes specified by G10 and the district.

6. Security and AES-256 encryption

G10 is committed to protecting district and student data using modern security practices, including:

  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest in our core systems.
  • Encryption in transit using TLS/HTTPS for all application traffic.
  • Role-based access controls limiting data to authorized users.
  • Audit logging of key actions and access events.
  • Secure development and deployment practices.

While no system can guarantee absolute security, G10 uses industry-standard measures designed to reduce risk and protect sensitive information.

6.1 SSL SHA-2 and 2048-bit encryption

G10 secures application traffic using SSL/TLS certificates that use SHA-2 signature algorithms and a minimum 2048-bit public key strength. This helps ensure encrypted communications between user devices and G10 services and aligns with modern security and browser standards.

7. Data retention and deletion

Data retention is governed by each district’s policies and agreements. In general:

  • Student and staff data are retained for as long as the district uses the G10 Application.
  • Upon district request, G10 will assist with data export and deletion in accordance with district policy.
  • Backups and logs are retained for operational, security, and compliance purposes for limited periods.

8. Student and parent rights

Rights related to student education records (including access, correction, and privacy) are managed by the district under FERPA and applicable state laws. Parents and eligible students should contact their school or district directly to exercise these rights.

9. Cookies and analytics

The G10 Application may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Maintain secure sessions and authentication
  • Remember user preferences and settings
  • Support basic operational analytics (e.g., performance, error tracking)

We do not use cookies or analytics tools to build behavioral advertising profiles for students.

10. Children’s privacy

The G10 Application is used in school and district contexts and is not directed to children for direct sign-up or consumer use. Student accounts and data are provisioned and governed by the district. G10 supports district compliance with FERPA and, where applicable, COPPA and relevant state laws.

12. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify districts through agreed communication channels.
